Haddington Woods Forest Restoration

Adjacent to #2, #3 and #4 holes on the Karakung Course is a large, older forest called Haddington Woods.  It's 23 acres that has been badly degraded with a canopy that has been overwhelmed by vines, devoid of seedlings and over run with non-native Invasive Honeysuckle.  For about a month now, the city has been removing the honeysuckle, removing dead and dangerous trees and replanting to re-establish a healthy forest stand by this Fall 2015.
An 8-foot deer fence will also be installed to protect the site from further browsing and rubbing and allow natural regeneration within the fenced areas.  A full project description is posted in the Clubhouse if you would like to know more!
